Matthew Stevenson, PhD

Experimental Postdoctoral Fellow

Matt completed his BS in Biology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and PhD at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As an undergraduate, he contributed to research investigating cytoskeletal dynamics in developing mouse neurons. His graduate work examined transcriptional regulatory mechanisms in the developing kidney and Wilms tumor, as well as the ontogeny of the mammalian kidney. Between his undergraduate and graduate training, he worked in industry as part of a team developing an iPSC-derived autologous cell therapy for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration. In his postdoctoral work in the Theodoris lab, he is interested in exploring the context-dependency of transcriptional regulatory networks. Outside of the lab, Matt enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, biking, cooking, and listening to podcasts.
